Oh Universe, you're really spoiling me
Okay, yesterday Trashionista got a friend request on GoodReads from Evan Handler. Evan Handler!
He's got a book out, which is why he's on GoodReads, but you know who he is, don't you?
He was in The West Wing, i.e. my Favourite TV Show of All Time (Seasons 1-4)! He was in Sex and the City! He was in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip! He's in Californication, i.e. my Favourite New(ish) TV Show.
He's Evan Handler! I love him!
So I sent him a message, basically telling him I'm a huge fan (I offered to review his book too, obviously).
This morning I got a reply. From Evan Handler. And, yes, there's a good chance it's not him - it's really his assistant or his publicist - but I don't care. It begins "Keris" and ends "Evan" and that's enough for me.
He thanked me for my "nice comments" and didn't even say "which chilled me to my very core." (No, I'm kidding, I was very restrained.)
Plus I asked him if they were making more Californications and they are! Taping starts "soon". (Not quite the exciting inside info I was looking for, but still.)
I love my job.

Co-oool. Cool cool cool. Lucky you!

I *heart* Evan too, I loved him in SATC. I would've been excited by the email too, I mean, I got excited when John Williams and Ken Beamish left me voicemails (only people who are BRFC fans will know who those 2 are!).

Suzi - truly you are the ONLY person to get excited by a John Williams voicemail! ;)

Oooh! Nice one. And more Californication on the way. Thrilled me to my very core!

Keris - Are you suggesting that some people (other than me and possibly Roger)would actually get excited about a Ken Beamish voicemail?

Diane - yeah, I read that on IMDb, but I can't remember him in it. Will have to try and find it online. (Along with that one with Joey's girlfriend who had some sort of basket business ... I've never seen it repeated and am starting to think it only exists in my head.)
Suzi - No. I was just thinking of Roger. ;)

I remember the one with Joeys girlfriend and the baskets. She was a mousey woman and flowered dresses and cardigans and made up food baskets - obviously the reason that Joey liked her!

The Friends episode is 'The One Where Rachel Finds Out'
Joey can't have sex because of the sperm donor bank and Melanie.
Chandler: So how'd it go?
Joey: Oh, it was amazing. You know how you always think you're great in bed?
Chandler: The fact that you'd even ask that question shows how little you know me.
Joey: Well, it's, like, last night I couldn't do the thing that usually makes me great. So I had to do all this other stuff. And the response I got... man, oh man, it was like a ticker tape parade!
Chandler: Yes, I know. As it happens my room is very very close to the parade route.

Not sure why I typed 'and Melanie' then stopped!!

Oh, I've seen it loads of times, it was on last week in fact - Phoebe is an extra on Joey's show (playing a nurse) but she's really nervous and keeps messing up and Handler (playing the director) keeps shouting at her. It's one of my faves!
Phoebe asks Joey what the director thinks of her, and Joey replaces a certain word in every sentence with the word 'puppy'. "Tell your mother-puppy friend to get her puppy act together" etc. So Joey tells her to pretend she really is the person she's playing and it works at first but she gets carried away and has to be escorted off set by security in the end...

Diane - Oh yes, I've seen that one, but not for a while. Will try and find it today. Thanks!
Suzi - I know that Parade route bit really well, but I don't remember Melanie being in that episode. Will have to find that too.
So that's today's work out the window, LOL!
