Bucks Fizz week: If you can't stand the heat... get out from under the chair
One of the great things about listening to the Bucks Fizz album is doing the dance routines in my seat.
Me and my sister learned them all and would perform them regularly for our own entertainment in the good front room (our parents were in the back room watching the telly). We made a "dressing room" by tipping the armchairs up against the wall (it was a pretty cramped dressing room) and wore torn up rags out of the rag back tied around our arms and legs to do If You Can't Stand the
Heat (see the chamois leather "outfits" above).
Fortunately, there are no photos...
[Stella, I mentioned to Leanne how terrible the girls' singing was on yesterday's video and she remembered reading that, in the performance after winning, Cheryl was so excited that she started in the wrong key and couldn't get it back! So that explains that then. It doesn't, however, explain Mike's haystack hair...]

Oooh!! I won a copy of Buck Fizz's 'The Ultimate Anthology' on eBay on Monday and it just arrived!
Thank you for reminding me of how ace they are! :)

I have no idea who Buck Fizz are, but I've just bought a copy of August's Practical Parenting, and my quote I gave you is in there! The excitement!

Did you see when Buck Fizz turned up on Airline, flying off to Spain or something on Easyjet. I only recognised the bloke who's on the left in the YouTube. He got dead old and desperate looking.

I'm surprised to find out they had enough tracks to record an album (was it just the one?) But I too had a chamois leather outfit and white stilletos (is that how it's spelt?) sigh and to think the only bit of chamois I can lay my hands on these days just gives me a desire to clean my windows :-(

You weren't kidding when you said it was going to be Bucks Fizz week!

Of course I wasn't kidding! Did you really think I was?
Nooo, Joyce, they had loads of albums, really! :)
And Stella, yes, there will be more about the old one and his three unknowns...

Oh how I loved Bucks Fizz, think mum gave their albums etc to the charity shop along with my treasured Kids From Fame albums - sob!
Posted by: Sarah | 04 July 2007 at 05:35 PM
Um. I gave my (signed) albums to the charity shop. But only because I don't have a record player anymore.
Now, Kids From Fame, that's another story! :)

Ooooh, van we have Kids From Fame week? Pretty purleese!
Posted by: Suzi | 04 July 2007 at 09:01 PM
Oh no, I made a spelling mistake and I can't edit it, the shame!
Posted by: Suzi | 04 July 2007 at 09:02 PM
Hmmm. If we do have Kids From Fame week it won't be for a while. And I didn't even notice your spelling mistake until your second comment!

Kids form Fame - oh I'm so old! Can we not have a Mud week (or half hour) or a debate about Bryan Ferry and other men in eye liner?
Posted by: Joyce | 04 July 2007 at 09:17 PM
Sorry that was not a critism - just a last ditch attempt by an old woman to feel included!

Kids From Fame week! Sounds a good idea, enjoying Bucks Fizz week more than I should!!

I just watched all the Bucks Fizz clips on your link. That's half an hour of my life I won't get back! There were 2 titles I didn't recognise but as soon as Jay started singing, I remembered everything! It was 20-odd years ago! What the hell was Easy Love all about and how did the 3 at the back not piss themselves laughing at Jay's 'dancing'??
