Gabi can’t wait to spend her summer in London, working as a runner on the set of her favourite television series. She’s getting over a breakup and she just wants to have fun. But when she meets a sexy extra called Spencer, life gets more complicated...
This is a lovable and entertaining coming-of-age story. I adored Gabi; she is a extrovert who is determined to enjoy herself despite going through some tough times, and her observations about work, relationships, London and life are truly funny.
Gabi throws herself into new experiences, acting and speaking first and worrying later. Her reactions to the breakup with her first serious long-term boyfriend are authentic and touching. Max is a wonderful, realistic character who felt like someone you could bump into on a British street tomorrow. It was also easy to picture Spencer, the up-and-coming star of the small screen, who features in some steamy scenes with Gabi. I enjoyed the television studio setting of this novel immensely, not to mention the familiar London locations. It’s also great to see elements of Gabi’s home life, and the depiction of her relationships with her female friends is particularly brilliant.
Highly recommended to all fans of realistic and funny novels about late-teen life and love.
