Noelle is counting down to the end of her final school year. She can’t wait to leave a place where she’s never fitted in, and where she has to dodge the people who make her life a misery on a daily basis. But when the bullying starts to get out of hand, it might be time for Noelle to act. And then there’s the gorgeous Julian, the boy she doesn’t feel she's good enough for...
This is another great novel by American author Susane Colasanti. Noelle is a quirky, interesting character who has a passion for art. She occasionally comes across as quite judgmental and uncaring to others, which is perhaps a result of the way she’s been treated. As with every novel I’ve read by Susane Colasanti, the narrative swept me along and kept me reading. The dialogue is sparky and witty, and the plot unfolds at an entertaining pace. I was soon rooting for Noelle and hoping things would work out for her, and I enjoyed seeing her confidence increase. The blossoming romance in this novel is sweet and definitely left me smiling.
A quick, absorbing read about high school bullying, friendship and romance. Recommended to fans of emotional, realistic books.
