"The tights run wild and free in the hilarious new novel from the Queen
of Comedy! Tallulah Casey is putting all thoughts of wild boy Cain
behind her. He is literally an animal in trousers... oo-er. Not like nice
boy Charlie (who she's totally not thinking about either). The Tree
Sisters are chasing those golden slippers of applause at performing arts
college but Dr Lightowler seems hell-bent on spoiling everything for
Tallulah. And with all her mates loved up, can Tallulah resist the call
of her wild boy?"
I'm a huge fan of all of Louise Rennison's books but especially the Tallulah Casey series. I feel I can really relate to Tallulah, and she's so bonkers! This book was most definitely NOT a disappointment! It follows the constant pull Lullah feels for 'wild boy' Cain Hinchcliff. However, an 'old flame', I suppose you could call him, makes an interesting announcement that changes everything. Along with this, Lulah is being kept busy with all her mates and the evil Dr Lightowler trying to ruin Tallulah, not to mention her little owlets ready to leave the nest!
My favourite character would definitely be Tallulah herself because I can relate to her and her commentary is bloomin' brilliant! However, I suppose out of the other characters, I think it's a tie between Charlie, because he's really sweet yet realistically complicated, and Vaisey, because she is so painfully shy and reminds me of myself when around boys! I really loved the struggle Lullah felt for Cain and the scenes between those two were brilliantly written, especially the end scene. I don't honestly think I have laughed this much when reading a book as I have with any of these books, but in particular this book! I really have had to search for something wrong with this book and the only thing I could find was the ending. It was kind of cliffhangery - if that's a word! I just really hope there is a 4th book!
Once again, a hilarious masterpeice from Louise Rennison. It's suitable for ages 11+, really, but anybody could read this and laugh! Overall, I give The Taming of the Tights a well-deserved 10/10!
