The winner of the Red House Children's Book Award 2013, as voted on by readers, will be announced on Saturday 23rd February at the Southbank Centre in London, starting at 2.30pm.
Here's more about the big day, from the Southbank Centre...
"Hosted by children's comedian James Campbell and with a very special appearance by shortlisted author David Walliams and last year's winner Patrick Ness, this star-studded event is the perfect opportunity to see the nation's literati in one place.
Shortlisted authors include Sophie McKenzie, Jonathan Meres and Elen Caldecott."
An extra-special feature this year will be appearances from students at the Stagecoach Theatre Arts school, who will be performing adaptations of the shortlisted books. Zeena Hicks, Head of Marketing and Communications, Stagecoach Theatre Arts, says:
“Stagecoach Theatre Arts is delighted to be involved with the Red House Children’s Book Awards. Story-telling is such an important part of a child’s communication and development and we hope our students offer an insightful interpretation of the books shortlisted. We wish all the authors nominated the very best of luck! ”
