REVIEW: The Fury (Vampire Diaries) by L.J. Smith
This is a classic vampire tale. It features the newly changed Elena and two brothers – all up against an unknown Other Power who they must unite to have a chance to defeat. The problem is who is this Other Power? And how will they find out?
Elena witnesses her own funeral and then has to gain the trust of her former school friends, when she appears to them as a vampire. Will they trust her and help her find the Other Power? Are they right that something terrible will happen at the Winter Dance, and can they stop it?
This is the third of a series – plot-wise it can be read alone. Certainly the ending builds up nicely but the problem is there was little in the narrative to make me feel bonded to any of the characters, and the story didn’t grab me at all. It could be though that this is because I haven’t read from book one.
For me this is a book that makes a good starter into vampire novels as there are no big surprises. If you’re seeking new and original, this might not be it.

these books are actually amazing! i'd advise reading from book 1 though they're great for vampire books.
i'd also advise reading some more of l.j smith's works like Night World or The forbidden game
