1. Double or Die by Charlie Higson

Adventure and James Bond, hurrah!  How can you go wrong? 

 

2. Small Eternities – Michael Lawrence (The Aldous Lexicon)

Because of its original, challenging plot.

   

3. Split By A Kiss by Luisa Plaja

For showing how everyone, no matter who they are, has good and bad times.

   

4. Ironhand by Charlie Fletcher

For making statues more exciting (and very dangerous!).

   

5.  Tin Grin by Catherine Robinson

Some of the best characters I read about all year.
