Fourteen-year-old Lauren knows that she's adopted but she doesn't know anything about her birth family. Then an idle search on the Internet leads her to suspect that she might be a missing child - a child snatched from an American family at the age of three. Suddenly nothing in her life makes sense anymore. Could her adoptive parents have anything to do with her kidnapping? Together with her friend Jam, she sets out to unravel the mystery of her past. But there are people who are prepared to go to extremes to hide the truth, and soon Lauren and Jam are in serious danger...
This is a gripping thriller that doesn't shy away from the emotional side of the drama and turmoil that Lauren is plunged into. It's the kind of book that's impossible to put down - it's fast-paced and full of twists, and you care for the lifelike characters from the first page. I also loved the romance element - Jam was fantastic - and the humour in Lauren's voice was also brilliant. An excellent, thought-provoking read.
Girl, Missing won the 2007 Red House Children's Book Award in the Older Readers category, and you can read the first chapter here.

Sounds good! Do you know if this one'll be out in the US anytime soon?

Amazing once I started reading I couldn't put it down finished it so quick. Love the way all the Drama is in it and the running away from her adoptive mother makes it sound so risky. Love the romance bit too.
