Chicklish is thrilled to interview the creator of Pink World and author of Think Pink and Beauty*licious... LISA CLARK!
Hello, Lisa! We loved Think Pink and Beauty*licious! Will there be more Lola Love go-for-it guides in future?
There definitely will be - I've just written book 3 and 4 which are due out in Jan 2008 - they're going to be handbag sized but will still be filled-to-the-brim with everything a girl needs to be feisty, fun, fearless and fabulous!
Will we ever get to read any stories of Lola's life?
You will, you will! I am working on a Lola and the Pink Ladies fiction series as we speak! Can't tell you too much about it right now as they're a work-in-progress, but I'm having so much fun writing them, that I wish Lola and the Pink Ladies were my best buds!
Are there any particular foods/drinks/songs you find inspirational when you sit down to write?
Oh yes... Food: Chocolate - Lola loves it, I love it, it makes the writing process so much easier! Drink: Pink lemonade, natch! Songs: music totally inspires me and I make a mix CD for each book - right now I'm listening to a lot of girl groups - Shampoo, The Pipettes and my new favourite discovery is Pink Martini - they have me throwing shapes all round my pink palace, which isn't entirely conducive to the writing process, but it does get my booty shakin'!
Which of the Pink Ladies would you say is most like you?
Well Lola is deffo a superhero version of me, but I have passion for guitars and music like Bella, a love of beauty prods and glossy mags like Angel and adore crafting and customising like Sadie, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be Lola!
Lola encourages us all to Go For Fit! What do you do towards this goal?
While exercise is not my total idea of fun, I eat A LOT of chocolate so know that in order to think and feel fab, I have to exercise.
So I walk. I walk everywhere. I love walking. In fact, I love walking so much, I'm walking New York in November in aid of my favourite charity, The Children's Society. It's 13 miles - that's half a marathon you know! Shameless plug alert: I have a sponsorship page and would love it if you were to visit and
make a contribution.
Can you recommend a book you love? Wow - what a question - I adore books how can I possibly choose? A book I discovered recently which is just beautiful to look at and filled with great big sister advice is Big Secrets for Not So Little Girls by Miranda Shearer - it's like a scrapbook of adorability!
Thank you very much, Lisa! We're really looking forward to reading more about Lola and the Pink Ladies in the future!
