In the interests of full disclosure (and in light of the new FTC guidelines for bloggers), we want to make clear our policy regarding review copies.
We sometimes receive free copies of books from authors/publishers/publicists (others we buy or borrow from the library). We also have friendly relationships with some of authors we review.
We do not give preferential treatment to free books, or to those by people we know (and we will always disclose author friendships in the interest of fairness). We prefer to write about books we enjoy and think our readers will enjoy and those are our only criteria in choosing what to review.
