Now before I write any words for this review I should point out one very important fact. This is Helen writing this. Not Keris. Because for Keris to be writing a review about her own book would be odd. And quite wrong.
Perhaps I should also point out that it is inevitable that I loved this book. I know, I know maybe as a friend of Keris I would write a positive review. But in response to (anyone saying) that, I should say that I was attracted to Keris and her writing (at Trashionista) because of her writing, that is how we became friends. As her book is written with the same humour and talent that drew me to her blog posts it is therefore inevitable that I loved her book too.
But enough of the explanations. I am way overdue in my review of this book, so I'll crack on.
Della is at that difficult time. You know, the mid to late teens where you aren't quite sure where you fall in the world, when you think a boy asks you out for a bet and suspect that everyone is laughing at you behind your back. After throwing a party with her sister and finding her diary has gone missing, Della doesn't just suspect. She knows that people are talking and sniggering about her behind her back. Because a page of her diary appears on Facebook.
Someone has got her diary. And is intent on spilling her innermost secrets out into the world.
Not only has Della got this to deal with. But a boy she has had a crush on (for like forever) seems to be interested. In her! But then maybe he has her diary? Or maybe it's her best mate. Or his mate? Argh. Who has it?
This isn't a book just about a missing diary however. It's also about boy meeting girl. But perhaps, most importantly, it is about a girl discovering herself. In more ways than one.
I know I'm out of the target age range for this book. And I know many other reviewers have said this before me, but oh! if only this book was available when I was Della's age. I would have borrowed it from the library along with Judy Blume and read it cover to cover in one night, thinking all the time that Della was me.
In reality I am *ahem* slightly older than Della, but I still read it cover to cover in one night. It was unputdownable. And moreish. I would like more.
So yes, Della Says: OMG by Keris Stainton is fabulous. I can't wait for the next one from her. (So Keris do hurry up and write it.Thank you.)

Great review, Helen... I couldn't agree more!
