No idea what the story is but I agree with you. The American cover appeals to me more than the British one. Sunlight on water is a happier image for me, and it sparks memories.

The British cover looks a bit twee. Not sure I'd pick it up and read the blurb, if I saw it in a shop.

I'm with you both. Sunlight on water sings to my heart on some level. It makes me feel happy and in fact although I have no idea what the book is about, the word memory coupled with that image is a pleasing one. The UK cover is pretty too.

I love the UK one. Sooo pretty!

I like the UK one best, too. I think it would call to me from a shelf. I must read Ann Brashares one day!

I like the US cover, unsurprisingly.

Oh, and I asked my American friend about the US cover for Prep. Apparently the belt is *the* must have accessory for the "preppy" look favoured by the kind of set that goes to private prep school.

I prefer the US version as water always soothes me. My daughter would prefer the UK one as she loves lilac! They are both lovely though.
