I think everyone probably knows what I think of this book by now, since I've gone on and on about it here, there and everywhere.
It is, quite simply, one of my favourite books of all time. It changed the way I felt about having a second child. It changed the way I feel about parenting in general. It made me laugh a lot and cry quite a lot too. I want everyone to read it.
Did you read it? (Please say yes!) Did you love it? (You MUST have loved it!)

I didn't. I haven't. It sounds like I should. Should I?

Blimey, Debs, what do I need to do - buy it for you?! (Because I will, you know!) ;)

Well, I haaaaaaaaaated, I mean haaaaaa - no, I can't do it, I'm KIDDING!
This was one of the best books (I mean top two) I read all year. It is without a doubt the best memoir I've ever read.
No-one who wants to write memoir should avoid this book: it is a lesson in how to write well. Poignant, moving, thought-provoking and relateable whether you have a child or not. One minute you're laughing at Ben's cuteness, the next you're sobbing (or at least sighing) at the preciousness of life and how short it is.
Thank you SO much for making this the last book of the year, Keris. I hope everyone who missed it (Debs!) rushes out to read it asap. It's wonderful. And she hasn't written any others! I know she blogs, but I WANT MORE.

Oh Diane. Just your mention of Ben's cuteness reminded me of the "Elephants Gerald" bit and I welled up all over again. I could read it again and again.
And, I KNOW! Why hasn't she written more books? Why? (I might email her and ask her.)

"Elephants Gerald"! "My hales"! Awww.
Yes, email her! :)

I'm in the middle of it right now, as we speak and am loving it! It was recommended to me by a friend ... Fantastic book - it should be compulsory reading for everyone, everywhere.
