Who's That Girl by Alexandra Potter is one of those feel good books that doesn't take itself too seriously. It is there, simply, to entertain. Charlotte Merryweather finds out that if she takes a particular route in London, through some roadworks, she can travel in time. To ten years previous, in fact, where she finds her younger self.
Don't get bogged down into the detail of time travel and the opportunities this gives the book (and Charlotte). Despite the fact that if I could go back in time to my younger self I would give her the numbers to a winning lottery jackpot (I'm such a cliché), Who's That Girl is more about reminding yourself of what life used to feel like (but in an entertaining and light hearted way).
Charlotte suffers from all sorts of allergies requiring ocean noises and a humidifier in order to sleep. She owns her own PR firm which is quietly successful, but her mind is constantly on the go and she's permanently worrying about something. Her boyfriend is called Miles, a property developer, whom she doesn't really have much to say to and she often forgets important events, such as her Dad's birthday.
When she meets her younger self she believes she can teach her a thing or two. Be a wise master of sorts and impart her expertise and wisdom onto her. Such as invest in property and start a pension. You know, all the exciting stuff in life. So she tries. But it doesn't quite pan out as she thought it might.
If you're looking for a light hearted and funny romp through time, this is definitely worth a try.
